**we have a lease in North Dakota with 3 producing wells. Just saw on the permit page another oil company wants to drill in a new configured spacing unit that includes our section. Since our lease is only with the first company does this mean we get no royalty money from their potential drilling even tho our section is involved?
Hi Bill:
No. Your lease stays with the minerals and if they are part of a drilling & spacing unit, you will get revenue from any production that comes from your section or a unit that section of land is a part, regardless of who the operator of the well(s) is/are.
