Section 10-19N-12W

I’m new to this forum and new to understanding this industry. Does anyone know if there is much activity/interest in Section 10-19N-12W in Blaine County? I and my family members inherited mineral resources and I’m trying to figure this out. Thanks in advance for any info!

Welcome! Sec 10 does not have any current OCC cases. Staghorn Petroleum. Carrera, and 89 Energy are the predominant operators in the township. Riviera Operating LLC has one well active in the township, the Noble 1. It is spaced at 640 acres, so you should be in pay status for that well. If not, then you will need to contact them to get into pay status.

Thanks very much for this information! If you have time, could you tell me what “OCC cases” are? And when you say the Noble 1 well is “spaced at 640 acres”, what does that mean? I know from paperwork I pulled together from my Moms records that the well is identified as Noble 1-10. I was getting royalty checks once a year from Linn Operating since I and my brothers inherited this from our Mom in 2012, but started receiving bankruptcy information about them more than a year ago and received no royalty check in 2018. From a google search I saw that they are now Riviera as you said and I have called 2 different phone numbers for them and no return call yet…I’ll keep trying  I appreciate your time and help!

All activities related to oil and gas drilling are overseen by the Oklahoma Corporation Commission (OCC). They cover spacing units (official drainage areas), forced pooling, permission to drill horizontal and vertical wells, etc. Every well must have a permit. The OCC has quite useful information. Get to know their website. If you have your legal description of minerals along with your name and address correctly filed in the counties where you have minerals, you will get mailings when activities are planned for your minerals.

Main site: Oklahoma Corporation Commission Oil and Gas Conservation Division

Pooling information: OAP

Well information: Test Search by surface location or well name.

Each well is spaced at the number of acres that it is capable of draining. Gas wells are often spaced at 640 acres which is a section. Vertical oil wells can be various spacings depending upon depth and pressure, but 40 acres and 80 acres are common. Horizontal wells can be 640 acres, 1280 or more, but usually at 640.

Linn split into new companies once it got out of bankruptcy. I think Riviera is one name and Roan is the other name. Here is the contact info. Owner Relations | Onshore O&G Asset Management | Riviera Resources Contact their Division Order section. I usually send a certified letter return receipt so I know who received it. The Noble well is old, so production is not very much and if you don’t have very many acres, they may only pay once a year.

Make sure your probate order or deed from a trust is filed and your information is correct. Blaine County | OKCountyRecords.com | County Clerk Public Land Records for Oklahoma

If not, you should take care of it.
