My Great grandma had a Land Patent. I have the certificate # found it on BLM website, looking thru it it says Guthrie Land office, which I’ve contacted they say know nothing about it wrong place. I looked on map and the property was on Luther Oil & Gas field… how can I actually track it down , it was close by the Indian meridian
It sounds like you would need to do title research. Unfortunately, for records beyond 1985 you, or someone you hire, would need to review the records in the Clerk’s office in Guthrie. Building a family tree would greatly help in these efforts as it is possible that you may be able to locate deeds or probate orders which have been filed since 1985.
