Hi. I just joined this forum. It looks like a great place to share info. Does anybody have an idea of mineral lease rates per acre in Section 23, Block C-7 of Reeves County. We do not live in the area and really would like to know what is going on right now. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
I leased C-7 Section 26 a few months ago. I got $1,000/1/4 royalty, 3 yrs. with Clayton Williams Energy, Inc. According to what I've read on msg. boards, leasing has pretty much stopped out there although I haven't kept up with all the chat lately. I heard CWEI had a big crew out there at one time then pulled them all out - I believe it was last summer - right before I leased. There is a lot currently under lease. Earlier than my offer, some got $1500 to $2000. Again, I'm going by msg. bd. chat as I also live a long way from the area. Go to the Lease Rates & Offers in Reeves County, go to the last page which is most recent.
Thanks so much, Ann. That is very helpful. Where we live, the oilfield activity is exploding, so we are not quite sure what is happening out there. Great info for us to go by. Keep me posted if you hear anything else. We appreciate you. Elizabeth.

I'm in Oklahoma. Where are you located, Elizabeth?

Ardmore......no, I'm not kiddin'........look in the phone book.
Wow. Maybe our families came to own minerals in close proximity by the same means. Quite a coincidence, Ann. My dad was an attorney here in Ardmore, so these minerals were inherited from him.

Frank Thomas.
Probably bought them from Otey Johnson.
Yes. Did you know Daddy? I believe that Daddy did buy them from Otey Johnson. Are you a relative of that family?

No, but I knew Otey.
I knew your Dad also your cousins Sid & Charlotte Henderson. Charlotte's Dad bought a bunch of minerals from Otey. Tom Dunlap is managing all of Otey's Trust now.
Great. Well it truly is a small world isn't it? What are the odds???

Do you follow permits issued on the RRC website? Do you have a map of Reeves County?
No, I have just joined to have an idea of the conditions in the county. I don't believe I have a map, but I bet I could google-earth it and look at the area pretty well.

I meant a section map so you could follow drilling reports. Besides just being "interested" in what's going on around my non-producing minerals, knowledge helps me know how hot the area is so I know how hard to push for better lease terms. You can search RRC Permits if you have a map. Also, RRC has GIS mapping that shows wells:
go to rrc then maps then gis map veiwer then survey/abstract then on next page enter reeves county and block and sec number. There are a couple horizontal wells permitted between you & me: State 25 and Gipper State.
Ok, thanks so much. I will take some time later to get into the websites and try to navigate and use them. Interesting info.

For you two Sooners, here are a couple of links to sites that present status of Reeves County. You may have to copy-paste them.
Steve
