Section 28-12N-04E, Lincoln County

We have mineral rights for 20 net acres, and would like to lease but we're having trouble with offers being made and then no further response, not even "we're dropping the offer".

Is there some sort of problem with leasing oil & gas rights in Lincoln county? If not, can anyone recommend a reliable company that's interested in leasing there?

Lisa,

SM Energy and Calyx are the 2 companies leasing in the area this year. I know nothing about either company but Calyx has filed the most (and most recent) leases in the surrounding area.

Thanks Rick,

Calyx through a landsman made contact with us last week, but they have not been in touch since. That's why I was wondering about companies, as we've had a bad experience with Patron Energy Inc. previously. Well, at least I know that Calyx is an active company now. We just didn't think it would be this chaotic.

Lisa, I was contacted by Upland leasing yesterday and offered to lease on 35 13N 4E I have a cousin that signed with them last week. If they haven't contacted you yet give them a try and see what they have to offer. I was told by upland leasing they are anxious to get drilling. They wouldn't tell me which company they are working with. if anybody knows please post. thanks

hi,

I don’t think Upland has contacted us yet, would you have a phone number or website I could reach them at?

Thanks, Lisa

Lisa we just recently leased with Calyx and they seemed to be quite busy, so just call them back, They were easy to work with and added the clauses we needed on the lease, no option years, no production costs and a depth clause. We had 20 acres and contacted them after having a offer from Viper, could find out no information on Viper and they were not willing to negoiate at all with there lease. We got a 1/5 with $100 for 10 acres and 3/16 $175 10 acres, 3 years on both. Good Luck !!!

hi,

The only contact with Calyx was a landsman, and while he said he or sometone else would be in touch the day after the verbal offer, he's not called. He's also not responded to the voice mail I left, but I'll try leave voicemail again tomorrow and see what happens. It's been a week since the last contact.

Thanks for the info, very appreciated.

Here's what happened in my persuit of things:

Went to the Calyx Energy website. While it doesn't have much there yet (page notes it's under construction), it does list an email contact as [email protected].

I sent query in and a couple of hours later got a response back from a landsman for Calyx. Lease offer is $175 and 3/16, and paperwork should be going out from them to me tomorrow. As it turns out, the landsman I'd spoken to no longer works there and apparently info didn't get passed on. The landsman also mentioned the Calyx had specific areas of interest, so keep that in mind.

Hope this helps someone else. Thanks again to everyone, and I'll continue to post followup on what happens.

Lisa make sure you read the lease and if there are clauses that you want to add contact them back to add them and they will probably work with you, i was happy with the negoiations we had with them. Do not be afaird to ask for a 1/5 royality with a lower bonus if the appeals to you. Good Luck !!!

Richard P. I am new at this so please bare with me. Got offer on sec 35 from Upland $ 125 and 3/16 , 3yr and 3yr option. have 15 acres How much difference is 1/5 to 3/16. I am not good with math. Also what is the depth clause and the Pugh clause about? Think I'll call Calyx and see what they will offer. Thanks for any info.
