I recently inherited mineral rights in this section and wanted to know if anybody had information on current drilling activity in or close to this location. The rights are associated with the Westpahl 31-32-31 well currently operated by Citation. Thanks
Citation is operating that vertical well, 277,995 barrels of oil from 7-1989 to 12-2013 and 249 barrels oil in December.
There is a horizontal wellbore also with the surface location in section 29 just north, operated by Continental Resources, PETERSON 156-99-29-32-1H. It's a good well 131,014 barrels oil from 4-2012 to 12-2013. All who own in sections 29 and 32 will share in this well. I hope this helps.
Thank You. I have not seen a division order for the peterson well. Is it normal for it to take 8 months?
That would be a very short time frame. Two years would be long. If you have marketable title, or if you get marketable title in the near term, I would send a demand letter. You may be able to collect interest for late royalty payments.

really? the DOs down in Oklahoma come out w/i 7 months of the initial production and tp date OK is my only experience. I do have marketable title but will contact Continental and see what their guidance is on DO timing as next step.
regarding the calculation of the percentage of the new well, is the correct formula (160acres/1280acres)*royalty interest % in the 160 acres?
also looking at the well naming nomenclature, i infer that the 29-32 portion refers to the pooled sections, is this correct? and if so does the Westpahl 31-32-31 name imply that the pooling is for sections 31&32?
I know my % of the Westphal well, but do not know if that % is diluted by pooling.
hope this question is clear and thanks again for the help.

James, first thing it's ND, forget what you know from OK because much of it will not apply.
From a search of the Westphal 31-32 I can see that it was originally named Westphal #31-32, likely denoting that the well was the 31st well and it is a well in section 32. The spacing is 160 acres 1/4 which does not make it impossible for the well to include acres from two sections but would make it fairly rare.
i contacted continental and it turns out that rights were still in my deceased fathers name and they sent the DO to his old address. so a little lawyer work here and then some filings in ND and should be straightened out. Thanks for you help
