My siblings and I own mineral rights for Block C-1 PSL, Sections 2,8,10,14 & 22. There is some activity in the area and we are seeking the individual(s) who own the "executive rights" for this tract.
Executive rights are commonly established when surface and mineral rights are severed in whole or in part or as a result of a lawsuit settlement. Check the surface transfer deeds for the sections and you may find the Executive rights owner.
If you would like the name of the Mineral Title Lawyer I use in my minerals management practice, send me a personal message. The firm has a strong presence in Midland Texas.
Hi Barry -
The attached list of leases recent leases of your Sections should at least give you a place to start. I can sent you details of the leases (with addresses, etc) if you would like.
I just glanced at the map of the area, but if I recall correctly Section 2 has two laterals completely crossing it from South to North. The other Sections just appear to be being used for Surface Locations, if they are being used at all.

444-LEASETABLES.pdf (185 KB)Thanks Charles. I can’t seem to find your attachment.
It's the PDF at the bottom of my message. The little Red thingy.
If you would like me to send it to your email address, accept my invitation to become A Friend on The Forum and you can send me your email that way.
Barry, Glad to see you again. You have to find out who in your chain of title reserved the executive rights, and then trace that chain of title to see who the owners are.
Hi Wade- Thanks for that info but how does one find out which owner reserved the executive rights? Barry
Hi Barry -
You have to go to the County Clerk's Office and research the chain of title (history) of your lands to find out how the Executive Rights were severed from the Mineral Rights.
It may have been through a single document or it may have been through a number of documents.
You are welcome to research the public records yourself or you can hire someone (an Attorney or a Landman) to research the records for you.
Hope this helps -
Charles
Yes it does Charles. Thanks. Will be working out a trip down there to the County Clerks office.
