Selling mineral rights

I have just received offer to buy my mineral rights in Weld County for $500 per acre. Twp 6 N, Range 60W 6th, Section 14:SW4. Does this sound like a good offer? Not currently under lease.Any help would be appreciated as I am over 80 and have no idea what's going on out there. Thank you.

I would suggest that if you can, talk to some of your neighboring land owners that you respect and trust and find out whats going on in the area and what they are doing about leasing as well as who they are dealing with..
If there is presently drilling or producing wells near, find out who the big player companies are.

$500 may or may not be the going rate in your area, you need to find out if you can.

Thanks, I need all the help I can get. No, I just own mineral rights to 40 net acres. Am wondering if it would be wiser to sell while I have an offer or to keep hoping someone will find oil. At my age I don't like to make long term plans. Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated.

I was mistaken. My mineral rights are in Morgan Cty, CO. Been offered $300/acre for total of 120 acres. Do you think I could do better?

Where are your mineral acres? Do you own 120 mineral acres in Twp 6 N, Range 60W 6th, Section 14:SW4?

Location is vitally important. I will let you know if I think you could do better, when I am sure where the acreage is located.
