Serpentine 1607

We recently discovered documents pertaining to inherited mineral rights on the NW Quarter of Section 13 - 16N Township - 7W range. Upon further investigation, it appears there is a producing horizontal well - Serpentine 1607. We have been receiving legal documents as well as cash offers. It appears there was a notice of forced pooling back in 2017 but the drilling didn’t start until the end of 2023. We are new to mineral rights and unsure of our next steps. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Contact Marathon Oil and ask for the Division Order department to see what you need to do to get into pay status. They will need title documents to prove that you inherited.

You have the the potential for multiple infill wells, so that is why you are getting offers to buy. In my experience, the offers to buy have been lower than what we eventually made in royalties. Many of the sections around you have five to six horizontal wells.

Marathon drilled & completed the White #1-130H well in August 2017. It is still producing. The Serpentine well is an increased density well. You need to make sure your correct contact information is of record in the Kingfisher County Clerk’s office and notify Marathon’s Land or Division Order department so they have your information. They may have money in suspense for the 1st well. 713-296-2372 or [email protected]. Good Luck
