Settlement Checks

I am wondering if anyone knows how settlement checks work. We are part of a settlement with Marathon. My friend who owns the same interests as we do in Oklahoma received her check over two weeks ago. I’ve written the company but of course have had no response. Does anyone know how these settlement checks work? Is there anything else I can or should do to get our settlement money?

I appreciate any guidance on this issue. Thank you in advance.

I’m assuming this is a class action settlement? If so, I wouldn’t contact Marathon, but rather the legal group that’s overseeing the settlement–they can give you an answer as to what’s going on, and why.

do you know your owner number? In the allocation plan, the owner numbers are listed and the amounts to be paid.

I have experience with JDN from the Casillas settlement. They take forever and are not very responsive or proactive. I believe they send out checks in batches which would mean yours is in the pipeline.

Thank you! I appreciate your response and help.

Thank you so much for responding and for your suggestions. I will follow up. One more question - what is JND?

Thank you so much for responding and for your advice. I appreciate it.

It is just a company that mails the checks and keeps track of what checks are cashed, what checks are returned, and what addresses are bad. It is just a mail/accounting service.
