Sherif Mineral and Royalty Conveyance Order

I have just learned that some minerals I have in Grady County will not be attributed to me because of a Sherif Mineral and Royalty Conveyance Order. My records are very good and I keep an address changes on record. I never received notice of this and have no idea what happened. Does anyone have any idea? Should I go straight to a lawyer? I would appreciate any advice. It is a very small amount of minerals in a very good location. This is the first time I have ever had a problem like this and the idea that the minerals cannot be leased by me is not very pleasant. Val Connell Carter

I don't know what the word "Sherif" means in this instance. The person listed on the letter should be able to give you the specific information on where their information was obtained. I would ask for a copy of the conveyance or at least where the paperwork is filed and the document number so you can obtain the copy for yourself before calling a lawyer. The more information you have to hand a lawyer, the better for you. If they are not willing to share the info. with you, you can do more research or then call a lawyer.

I posted a copy of the Sheriff's Mineral and Royalty Conveyance on the other thread.

Don, which other thread?

Hi Val I see that you have a number of documents filed of record in Grady County long before 2006… I am curious and will look at that next week on my next trip to Chickasha. It seems a little strange to me that they can do that without searching for the owners of record.

I attached the "Sheriff's" document and a link to the referenced case number.

Thank you Clint! Haven't seen your name In awhile. Good to see you are still here!

Thank you Don! I followed Clint's link and saw the thread.

That would absolutely be great!!! As I said I keep my address up to date for all my minerals. The man from Vitruvian said it was posted in 2006 Book 3884 page 278 A Sherif Mineral and Royalty Convergance Order Our records are usually very complete. My grandfather was John Randall Connell and my Grandmother was Eloys Hall Connell My Dad was J Val Connell My Dad was an only child and I am an only child The lived in Idabel, Oklahoma. There may be a discrepancy on amount of minerals (either 2 1/2 mineral acres or 1 1/4 mineral acres) but this has previously been leased and documents carefully gone over. I have very thorough files. There is no doubt I have at least 1 1/4 acre. I had received the information that was presented to the Oklahoma Oil and Gas Commision but never received anything else. This led me to believe my name had been taken off the list. The Ellis wells as you may know were first operated by Apache and now by Vitruvian. I talked to the man at Vitruvian and he is the one that gave me book and page numbers. What really amazed me that this Court Order could be made with me not being notified.

It is so nice that you will look into this for me and then I will know what direction to go. Thank you,

Val Connell Carter

Thank yu soooo much. It is a start. This is simply amazing. All the background for these mineral were carefully gone over in 1984 when these minerals were leased to Marshal Oil Company and Mobil Oil Corporation, What also amazes me is I was not notified!!! Any advice is welcome. Without this group I would really be lost. Thanks, Val Connell Carter

Will I have learned more. The County Clerks office sent me to the Court Clerk It is case CJ 2004-636. They said it is a huge file. They also said I was notified using an address in Perry, Oklahoma. I was born in Perry Oklahoma 67 years ago!!!! THE COUNTY CLERK HAS EVERY CHANGE OF ADDRESS I HAVE MADE FOR THE LAST 50 YEARS. I think I need to contact a record checker and have them go thru the case and find what pertains to me. Val C. Carter. DOES ANYONE HAVE SOMEONE TO SUGGEST?
