Does anyone know anything about Smith Energy? They have sent us a proposal for a top lease.
I haven't heard of them but maybe somebody else has. Maybe try going to the Cypress and Sanchez blog on this website and ask Mr. Mike, Patrick, Chiliman, or WI now a lot of companies and are in the business.
I just heard about them also... will check out the blog
My family has also been approached about leasing with Smith. Did you find anything out about them?
Yes, I have. Smith Energy is a company that is under Eli Smith & Associates. They are landman and we have signed a top lease with them. They have been contracted by Chisholm Exploration. Where is your land located?
Thanks so much for your reply. We have 100% minerals on 128 mineral units SE of Shiner about 4 miles. This is land that my family sold a very long time ago but kept the minerals. We are in the N. Mixon Survey. I am curious about what you leased your minerals for. They are offering us 1000/acre, 20%, and 3yr/2r. Also, does Chisholm have any producing wells in the area? Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks again.
We are also in that same survey. The offer is exactly what we got. I am not sure if they do have any right now, but once they get the block of acreage in our area, they plan on drilling. That is what I have been told. The owner of Chisholm is Cactus Schroeder out of Abilene, Texas.
Thanks so much for the information Amy. Much appreciated.

What county road is your land off of?
CR 356A
Laura, have you signed a lease yet? I am currently seeking acreage on behalf of a company looking to do some immediate drilling in the area. Your property seems to be close to an area of interest we have.

Good Morning David,
We have not signed our lease yet. The property was sold many, many years ago and my family retained all of the mineral rights. Most of the original mineral owners are deceased so there has been much digging to determine the present mineral owners. That process is almost complete so we are getting closer to signing. I am, however, interested in knowing more about what you are working on.
