Okay, I have a question. My family with some others own 70 acres of minerals in 3-2S-4W and 65 acres in34-15-4W in Stephens County. We have received all the requests from Citation to the Oklahoma Oil and Gas Commission establishing a 640 acre drilling unit including a September 26, 2014 request authorizing the drilling of 2 wells. When I contacted CITATION regarding a division order for the Bull Shark 3-1 they said we were not on the list. Is it possible to be part of a unit but not part of a well??? Val Connell Carter
If you own minerals in 3-2S-4W, you have an interest in that well. That well is spaced on 640 acres (in this case 638.64 acres).
Bottom line is they are saying you don't own minerals in 3-2S-4W. Do you have documentation of your ownership?
FYI, It is possible to receive many of the documents as an owner of an adjacent section.
Thank you. We have owned this since for more than 80 years. Robert Armstrong owns the land. We even have a well on it!!!! Do you have an interest in the Bull Shark 3-1. Have you received a division order. Thanks, Val Connell Carter
We have an interest in a few other Citation wells very close by. First production on the Bull Shark was over a year ago, so the Division Orders should have been out 6-9 months ago. There is a title issue somewhere. Although non of those wells drilled by Citation in the area have been horizontal wells, the production has been very good.
Thank yu, Val Connell Carter
No...if you are in a unit you are in a well. How many family members own the 3-2S-4W acres? Did they come to you through an estate? If so from who? You say you received the spacing orders...did you see your name on the list of respondents? Did you ever lease it or get a Division Order? If you don't have the spacing notice, If you go to this link, http://imaging.occeweb.com/imaging/OAP.aspx and where it says"case #" enter 201302228, then hit the second one down hat says ID 4360757 and "Applic" that will be a PDF of the spacing application...the back several pages are all the respondents who own minerals in the unit. Your name should be on it or at least the name of whoever you got the minerals from. Many of them are known as "curative" that they don't have a good line of title on them..but add their names to make sure they hit everyone. Sometimes they miss people for some reason. That can actually be good for you..if you were not leased and were not pooled then you have free acres with a producing well on it. If that's the case and the title is good I can point you in the direction of some folks I have leased to that can possibly give you a better deal then you would get form Citation. Of course the downside is that sine people think they own minerals and they don't really. I hope that isn't the case for you..it all depends how they came to you, and how that was recorded.
Thank you so much. I could not make it into the sight with the info. Got Case#201302228 Does the ID go where it says docket or Order # 4360757 Case Type I wrote in Applic and then hit SEARCH but did not get any results.
Okay to answer your questions. This 135 acres has been owned originally by 4 families. The two families I keep up with received their division orders. We have 4 existing wells so I didn't think it could be leased.Theold leases did not restrict the different formations etc. I received all the information that went to the corporation commission regarding the Bull Shark 3-1 so I really didn't give it much thought. The other two in the group received their division order and the third is a Baptist Church so I have to assume they got theirs. We have owned these minerals since the 40's. My Dad was an only child and I am an only child and the trust name was listed.Asthe used car dealer would say "a clean deal" Now I have to hassle with them. I have another well called the Craig -6 in 12-2S-4W. I assumed when the sections had been leased literally forever you did not get a new lease and they could just drill. Anything on a list with the name Connell is mine. I really appreciate your interest.Val Connell Carter (Haha I am a lady but named after my Dad) I grew up with my Dad checking out core samples!!!!!
