By the way, I will send you a friend request and we can talk further this if you like. There are other factors (clauses) you will want to know about before you lease.
Martha and Hutch, I thought I sent a big thank you for your comments but I guess I hit the wrong send. So consider this a belated thanks. We wish we had known about this site when helping our Mom in 2010 with leasing decisions. Newfield sort of got the best of us but it could have been worse. Those of you who are in leasing positions Please pay attention to what Rick, Hutch, Martha and Linda are telling you. They have great experiences. There is a simple truth. Anyone who wants to purchase your minerals wants to at least double their cash flow.
Mike, thanks for the kind words.
SKK, you have gotten good advice from everyone. One more thought, if your sisters are inclined to sell, buy their interests even if you hsve to borrow to do it. Maybe other family members would want to own if not you. It would be a great investment and the minerals stay in the family. Don’t let someone “steal” family minerals for 25 cents on the dollar.
Sorry, I meant to address previous post to SJK not SKK. No coffee yet this morning!
Ed, thanks for the update on Oceana. what does “pipe in the rack” mean?
John S, My family has just dealt with Echo on minerals about to be pooled and we have been very pleased. Matthew did everything he said he would. They paid a premium bonus and agreed to all our lease terms. So far, all is good and we would definitely sign with them in the future. We did have the benefit of having some close associates of a family member have a positive experience with Echo. Good luck.
Forgot to tell you…not playable…restrung with black cord for looks! I don’t know if you could make one that played, sure would be pretty and one of a kind!
Michael, It’s a guitar with mosaic stones glued on it. You can make one pretty easy.
This is weird. I noticed there were no messages for Wednesday, and that the Comment box had disappeared. I signed in again and got the comment box back, but still no comments from yesterday. I suspect this has something to do with my having switched browsers from Safari to Firefox. I’m having other glitches also.
Kathlyn, I don’t think the problem is with your computer. The last post I received was on Tues as well. There’s just not been a lot of activity recently. I have also experienced some “glitches” such as a post showing up in my email list, but when I click on the post it is not there. They are few and far between so I haven’t been real concerned with it.
Thanks Vicki. Glad to know I haven’t missed any big news. But I do have to call my neighbor, who’s a Mac guru. When I click on Firefox it says it can’t connect to my homepage, CNN, but when I click off & try again, up it comes.
Jen, if it was a 3 year lease could be up but sounds good for you if they want to pool you.
I need help… My dad signed a lease for section 5 02n 04w and Garvin section 32 3n 4w back in 2011. I see no mention of formations or depth clauses at all in either lease. The drilling permit for this well (Condit) mentions only specific formations. It does not specify the Springer. A new well is planned by CLR called the Celest 1-5-32xh for the Springer. Do I get to lease? I thought the original lease would be in effect for this new well. Am I right? I just received the application for the well and a pooling order application in the mail today for this. Just a little confused. Called Jackfork but haven’t recvd a return call yet.
If one is leased and wells have been drilled to the Woodford by Newfield and they decide to then drill horizontals to the Springer will a new lease be required or not since it is above the Woodford?
No new lease. If the Springer had been drilled first and you have a depth clause and the original lease has expired there would be a new lease.
Hello everyone, this is a question for anyone who knows. What are the names of the wells in section 14 1S 5W? I know some of them have been around forever. I want to look at them on Google Earth. Thank you, K Dawn
Thanks Joseph. Another thought has occurred. I suppose one would be notified If an application to drill the Springer was submitted to the OCC. As has occurred with the previous permit to drill apps.
KDawn, Look them up here:
