Took a quick trip down to the diggings today. I believe they are fracing on the Poteet #2 (?) that is padded on section 8 2n4w. There is still one of the Poteet rigs up in the middle of section 17 and the only name on the gate that goes into where they are fracing is the Forest well but I believe that’s the one on the west side of this one.
Checking on the McElroys. All seems quite on numbers 1, 3,4, and 5 on section18 but no gravel has even been put on that location that sits on section 17.
Further down that road on what is section 13 2n5w (a Marathon Location) is a drilling rig.
I believe there were three of the new Honeycutt wells being drilled on section 27 and a rig still right on the north side of section 15. Another Honeycutt, I believe.
The Cactus sign for rig #154 has been left up by the gate of the Jerrod and the Branch #1 but I believe they just forgot to move it when they moved the rig.
There is still a rig beside Highway 76 on section 14.
Three cactus rig signs are on the Garvin/Stephens County line road (to the north of Stephens.
There are about 5 or 6 rig signs up on the road that goes west off of highway 76. I believe there are wells along that road such as the Gregeory. Not sure what the road is called.
Linda, that road you don’t know what is called, is the road that goes between the Gregory wells on Sec 28 3N/4W and the Ince 1 21H 3N/4W well to the north. And the Ince 1 21H well is drilled from the N/W corner of Sec. 28
Sorry, I got the cart before the horse in reporting on the Poteet #2. After telling hubby about the explosive signs and signs for all to turn off all cell phones and radios he said they were probably perforating instead of fracing (oh, sure, I knew that I had just forgotten) lol Anyway the frac tanks were all over the location so I’m sure that’s coming shortly. I know it must seem like forever but hang in there and I’m sure it will be worth the wait! There was a lot of pipe in the derrick on the only Poteet well rig that’s left so guess they are pretty deep on that one too.
Oh, man, wish I hadn’t called Newfield Office this morning because the little gal burst my bubble as far as the Jerrod and the Branch wells go. The Jerrod is making substantially less that the quarterly update just told us and the Branch wells were down on the check this month and she talked like they are all down some more these last two months except for the number 5 well which was up a little on gas. Guess I better not make my Christmas list yet, huh? Still every bit we get is a blessing we never thought we’d have so I’ll stop my complaining for now!
She said the Jerrod had a first sales date of Sept. 4th so we shouldn’t expect the first check until around March.
Our highest-return investment region today is the Anadarko Basin of Oklahoma. There is a gravitational pull to add activity in our SCOOP, Springer Shale and STACK plays. All of the investment scenarios we are considering for 2015 have an increasing percentage of our capital being allocated to the Anadarko Basin.
Even with softer prices, our portfolio is very resilient today, offering both scale and quality. The cornerstone of this program is Anadarko Basin. The STACK and SCOOP plays have years of drilling inventory and are providing us with 30% to 50% rates of return, even at today’s lower oil price. Our hedges are very strong and ensure that approximately 70% of our oil production, over the next 2 years, will get $90 price without further deterioration.
Continental has filed for a pooling, on Sec 5 1N5W, hearing scheduled for Nov. 17th. Have received offers for lease from Double Eagle Energy, Freeman Oil and J.P. Drilling with offers to lease. Their offers are better than Continental’s. Does anyone know of these companies, and dealt with them before? Would appreciate any info. Thanks
Ed, or anyone, when you say the rig is down on Oceana, can it mean they have abandoned the well or is it more likely that frackting equipment will be brought in?
