Linda, your link sends you to yesterdays price…
http://www.bloomberg.com/energy/
This is the best one I’ve found for up to date pricing.
http://www.wtrg.com/daily/oilandgasspot.html
I also use this one. It is “yesterday”, but it is WTI at Cushing.
Scroll down and Henry Hub gas prices are also available.
And as M Barnes point out, WTI isn’t what you get on your royalty checks. There’s transportation cost from the wellhead to a delivery point plus differentials for different regions of the US. Mid-Con differentials a few days ago were $7 so WTI at $50 means you’re getting $43 less transportation cost for your royalties. Montana differentials at one point in time last year were WTI less $20. And occasionally the differential can be higher. WTI is still a good guide, but you can’t trust it alone for figuring your check amounts. Better explanation in the link.

Talking talking talking. You currently have one well on the section. The potential for five to six more wells or more exists. Use the spreadsheet that I posted earlier to do the math. Or friend me and I will walk you through it. In my experience, offers are about half or less of what the land is worth…. think about it…
thats a good one, Barnes!

lol…Lynn…Hubby said they better not offer him that for our 34 2n4w or he might sell at least half of it because he’s wanting to buy some land and build a new house with a pool for my bad back. I know they are offering that to you for that piece, Lynn, because it already has a good well and talk about drilling more. Isn’t that where the Lawrence is? Great Offer but like M Barnes said it has so much potential for the near future. Best Wishes in whatever you do!
There is a wonderful and encouraging article in today’s Oklahoman newspaper that I think everyone would really enjoy reading. Hubby brought it home but It is large and I don’t know how to get it on here. Maybe some of you computer smart people can put it on here for the others of us. The title of it is “Area’s Potential Keeps Oil Rigs Drillng In Southern Oklahoma” (if it make a difference the only words they capitalized were A in the first word and the O in Oklahoma). I guess it must have been the front page because it says it continues on page 2c with the word “GAS”. The article is about the SCOOP, STACK and SOHOT plays in several southern Oklahoma counties. It’ll pump you up!!!
Huey, I’ve found the pipeline price bulletins are a pretty good guide. See Plains All American below. On Dec 19, 2014 they had Oklahoma Domestic at Cushing for $53, on my check stub the oil sale date of Dec 20 paid on $55.84. I realize the sale dates are pretty generic but I’ve never had a problem reconciling CLR oil prices with the pipeline bulletin.

ANYBODY OUT THERE TODAY???
Michael, I too have interest in 17, 1N-5W. Continental is going to drill another well there, just north of the Oceania.
I’ll try to type some of the highlights of the second page of that article.
Andy’s Neck is a reference to geologist Andy Rihn, who discovered the field and lobbied for company resources to be devoted to the area. Recently, CR has concentrated its efforts in the Springer trend near the center of the SCOOP. (I’m interjecting here that our son had told us the story that they called the area Andy’s Neck because when he was trying to get them to drill that area they said if it didn’t turn out as good as he thought it would it would mean “his neck”. lol I thought that was a funny story). The article goes on to say: Unit Petroleum Corp. also is focused on Grady County and the surrounding area in what it calls the Southern Okla. Hoxbar Oil Trend, or SOHOT.
article cont…Newfield has focused farther north on what it calls the Sooner Trend, Anadarko basin, Canadian and Kingfisher counties, or STACK.
The region also contains the Cana Field, which underlies parts of northwest Canadian County. The NW Cana Field, which underlies parts of NW Cana contains similar rocks as the Cana, but stretches to the northwest, including parts of Blaine, Carter and Dewey counties.
Janice…I can’t answer your questions about what is going on where you have mineral rights but maybe I can about the 5 acres you seem to have lost. On our title where we bought mineral rights years ago the land companies that were leasing for CR and Newfield didn’t find as many acres as was listed on our title. After they researched it further they said the man we bought it from didn’t have as much to sell as he thought he did because his granddad had sold some of it before he died and didn’t have as much to leave him as the relatives or court thought. Anyway, we had it checked out by a Landman and sure enough they there right. I hear that happens quite often. Five acres would be worth having it double checked though especially if they are going to drill on it. I believe yours is in a good area. Best Wishes!
Janice, I also own mineral rights in those exact same sections. We signed a contract last summer also with Stamps brothers and received DO but haven’t heard anything either.
Linda, I’m not sure if there is a well or not. It was for 17 2n 5w. We moved to Arkansas and received a notice from Chesapeake for a change of address so they could send DO. That was in Aug. haven’t heard from them since.
