Family estate owns surface and minerals to some 500+ acres in Block 34 Section 163. Estate has been approached to sell only the surface acerage (NOT minerals). Does anyone know what the surface market price is? Also, any recommendations on a real estate agent? Just trying to gather information as to what direction the family estate should go. Thanks in advance for your help.
Mel,
I have a friend in Midland who is familiar with going rates in that area. His name is Austen Campbell. You can reach him in the office at (432) 682-6389. Tell him Casey recommended you call him.
Thanks. I’ll try to call this afternoon.
Mel,
My advise is to seek the assistance of a good oil/gas attorney to advise you. I personally would not use a real estate agent as I they may not have enough knowledge of the oil industry, how the oil companies work and are only concerned about their company interests and NOT YOU! Why does this company want only the surface rights and not the mineral interests, I would question this. I know of a very good attorney in Dallas or this forum has attorneys involved. If the company leases the surface rights it would make it difficult for another company to lease the mineral rights and due exploration??
Mike
It is not an oilcompany wanting to buy--individual.
I own some property in Ward County.
Feel free to give me a call to discuss your options.
