Can a surface owner obtain mineral rights if the mineral rights deed has the wrong parcel numbers that were purchased from a third party? They offered us money, We declined. We were not involved.
You should have the deed reviewed by an oil and gas title attorney in the state where the minerals are located to review the wording and legal descriptions in light of state law.

Thank you. That is my plan. I am just so surprised this has been wrong for about 36 years. New to mineral rights, so I am hoping that we can get them back. We want to keep the land as it is. I am hurt that people would threaten us when to me they look to be clearly wrong. I found the problem myself even though we thought we hired an attorney and he basically did nothing and did not catch the errors.
