You need to search at the state treasurer’s office in the states where the minerals are located. Those funds will be over four years old (or whatever their state statute is). Also hunt in Delaware, just in case.
For more recent suspense funds, you need to contact the operator and find out what the particular situation is and how to rectify it.
If you have information regarding the companies and the owner number of the deceased relative, you can reach out and request what is needed to put the minerals into pay status. Unfortunately, most companies will not let you know how much is being held in suspense.
