My wife and I have a mineral lease with Bonanza Creek. Currently we have 1 well that is producing in Section 6 and 2 wells in Section 7. Does anyone know if Bonanza Creek will be drilling any future wells in both sections?
I have a lease with Bonanza Creek in Section 7 as well, and will be interested to see others' responses to this question. My guess is yes, given Bonanza Creek's other activity in the area. I read that the company floated $700M of bonds in 2013 and another $300M last month, to manage debt and to fund drilling and exploration, so the funds would seem to be there. They are conducting some interesting stacking tests nearby; you can read about these at http://www.niobraranews.net/drilling/bonanza-creek-conduct-downspacing-stacking-test-niobrara-b-bench-codell-fm/ . Their most recent investor presentation includes some positive comments about their focus on the Wattenberg Field; you can find the August, 2014 presentation on the Bonanza Creek website at http://www.bonanzacrk.com/ . And you can keep track of drilling permit applications on the COGCC website at http://cogcc.state.co.us/ .

Thank you for your response. The websites are most helpful. It does appear that another well in section 7 is planned, from the COGCC website.
I notice today that Bonanza Creek is building a Booster Station in Section 7. Just wondering what's the purpose of a Booster Station? Any comments?
Where did you find information on the booster station? I believe that the COGCC hearing on Bonanza Creek's application to drill up to 12 additional wells in Section 7 was to be held this week. My guess would be that they expect to be pumping more out of the section and needed the booster station. That's the best I can come up with on short notice.
On the COGCC web site is were I saw the Booster Station approved permit. Do you know of any plans for more wells in Sec 6? Thanks for your comments
I erred. Bonanza Creek's 8/28 application was for up to 10 additional wells in Section 7. The hearing was scheduled for yesterday and today. Sorry, I do not know anything about Section 6.
