How do I send out a message to the Grady County members?

John,

click on the Grady County Okla. Oil and Gas Discussion main page and scroll down to ADD A DISCUSSION and go from there.....

How do I friend someone?

Hit the blue icon or picture next to their name. It should pop up on their page and it has a button for Add as a Friend.

How long does it take for a new Friend to make it to my list? Quite often, they have a question in the friend request and it goes "poof" when I hit accept. Then I can't see their name for a long time and may never see the question again. I have tried searching the name and the search cannot find it.

Martha,

I always 'bookmark' the persons page before I click accept and then I've got their info and send them messages immediately.

Good ide

when attempting to send a message to a" FRIEND" the following appears - We are sorry we are having an issue with this page. It asks to report this to the site if it appears again but will not send the report when trying to do so.

For some odd reason in the last week or so, I have not been getting notifications -- and there have been many -- when new postings have occurred. As far as I know, I haven't willfully changed any settings. Suggestions? Thanks -- Later -- Buzz

For some weeks now I have not been getting e-mail notification when there is a new posting on the 'Discussion' group. Any suggestions? Thanks-- Later -- Buzz

I am unable to open inbox on the desktop view. Message says there are issues with the page and click “here if it continues”. I have tried sending and it times out. I am using gmail to submit this from the forum messages update message.

I'm experiencing the same problem as Buzz only it started yesterday, not weeks ago, for me.......Fred

i was getting daily digests of forum posts - but today or yesterday those switched to sending individual messages each time someone posts. it seems like the setting to get a daily digest has disappeared?

Greetings,

Some months back I noted that my computer had flagged this site as not secure and warned me about going to the website. Looking in the browser bar at the top of my page now, I see our site is flagged with an 'i' with a circle around it. Clicking on the 'i' allows one to read that this site is not secure and that we should not enter any sensitive information.

I believe I was told way back when, that there was a movement toward a more secure https configuration in the works. Today, I was reminded of this when I received a message from my virus/security software company. They made note on their blog site of a reminder from Google that website owners need to be moved to https by Oct 1st. Here is the link FYI:

https://blog.malwarebytes.com/101/2017/09/google-reminds-website-owners-to-move-to-https-before-october-deadline/?utm_source=double-opt-in&utm_medium=email-internal-b2c&utm_campaign=EM-B2C-2017-September-newsletter-issue1&utm_content=Google-Http

I am not entirely clear what the possible implications are to us members if this website is not secure, but I am fairly certain that a better argument can be made for being 'more' secure rather than 'less' secure.

Are there plans afoot to make the site https? If so, is Oct 1st the target?

Regards,

Will

Will, I have been using this site for about 6 years on a variety of devices, operating systems and browsers. I don't recall ever seeing those error messages, can't help but think the problem is probably not the internet protocol but maybe something more specific to your particular circumstance.

Michael, This is what see in the address. I am not able to capture it opened so you can read the text. I suppose I could use my phone to photo it an attach that if you care to see it.

The message I was referring to is not an error, but a notification or warning from my security/virus protection. I was using FireFox and Chrome over the past while.

Will, all I can suggest is you try to troubleshoot this in your security program or maybe google it and see if others have encountered the same problem. Good luck.

The message is :"Your connection to this site is not private. Information you submit could be viewed by others (like passwords, messages, credit cards, etc."

Can you tell me what it means to accept a Friend request. I would not want to offend anyone if I ignore it.

It means that someone wants to be able to discuss something with you privately, away from the Main Discussion Boards.

At least that's what it is supposed to be for. Some A-Hole just yesterday tried to use it to get me to invest in some sort of scam.
