Decedent died testate in California owning mineral rights in Texas. The estate was probated way back in 1927 and everything is on microfilm, a total of around 400 pages. When requesting an exemplified probate copy, which documents are needed exactly(Last WIll and Testament, Petition to Probate, etc.)? Hoping to not need all 400 pages.
You should request at a minimum exemplified copies of the Application or Petition depending on what the document is called in California, the Will, and the Order admitting the Will to probate. If available, you may also want to request a copy of the citation that informed public of the probate proceeding and a copy of the original letters in case the California personal representative had filed any documents in the real property records of any Texas county. Depending on the way the Will was drafted, there may be additional curative work that is needed. Good Luck.
