Texas Mineral Rights no heirs

Years ago when the property was bought (350+ acres), half of the mineral rights were kept by the original owners. All of the owners are deceased with no heirs. We have owned the property for around 25 years. Years ago the property was leased for minerals and researched. No heirs! We own the other half of the mineral rights. We have been told that it is possible to adverse possess the remaining mineral rights. We are in Texas and wonder how we should proceed! Thank you for any help that you can give us!

You need to consult an oil and gas title attorney.

As TD said you need an oil and gas attorney. I have have used Eric Camp, He is in Ft Worth, and is listed in the directories above. Any oil and gas attorney in Texas anywhere in Texas can help you. Look in the directories section above in the Mineral Services area. MK

Not possible in Texas.

O&G attorney defintely who you’d need to consult if you decide to pursue it but the article below or others you can find online might help judge if your facts justify trying it. Look for an article at Kupier Law Firm on adverse possession.
