I have mineral rights that were left to me by a irrevocable trust and am trying to register in Grady County, Oklahoma. I have a legal description on my mineral deed of NE/4 of Section 4, Township 5 North Range 7 WIM: The Affidavit of purchase price where I file the exemption for the tax stamp shows S___ TN ___ RW___ Addition_____ Block_____ Lot________ How do I fill this out. I had no trouble in other counties, but Grady is a stickler for every little detail. Can someone help me as to how to fill this out?
S= Section, enter 4 TN= Township, enter 05N RW= Range, enter 07W Leave the others blank
Check your description carefully for all of the wording. If you are in the NE quarter, then you may be in Lot 1 or Lot 2 depending upon the wording. Indian Meridian.
If you were the beneficiary of a trust and it is time to distribute, the trustee would prepare a trustee’s deed. Assuming you are a close family member there is no documentary stamp tax. The exempt language can be placed on the deed thereby eliminating the tax stamp affidavit.
