I have given Citation everything it needs over the course of two years to transfer one well to my trust. I wonder if Citation is about to go bust as it doesn’t respond the way most oil and gas companies do. At my wit’s end. Any suggestions? thanks, Dixie
Welcome to the community. You should check with your estate planning attorney about the process for transferring your interest into the trust. Most people do not have an interest in a well unless they have a working interest therein. Most people have an interest in the minerals being extracted from the land. This usually involves a mineral deed from yourself to the trustee of your trust. If you live in a state that does not have minerals, you attorney might not be aware of this necessity. In most cases, if there is no deed filed the trust will not work as contemplated. Once the deed is filed, a copy of it should be sent to the operators. It may take some time for them to respond.
This information is not legal or tax advice. This response does not create an attorney/client relationship.
In addition to Richard’s suggestions, once you have gathered all the information from the county clerk’s office, send that information, via Certified Mail to Citation, return receipt requested. Then you have a paper trail to refer them to. Citation is not going bust, at least anytime soon.
