Trying to find info. on Farmers Royality and J.T. Blankenship

My mother still living owns land in central texas, she has not leased but has been contacted. She owns 75% of minerals. Farmers royality has 1/8 and a JT Blankenship has another 1/8. According to my reasearch this came about when the land was sold in the 1930 era. Can someone provide info. on these two and do you think they would sell their mineral interest to my mother. Thanks

Could this be the JT Blankenship you are inquiring about?

Mr. Cox, most property can be bought for a high enough price. Since the 1/8 minerals interest do not cost the owners anything to hold, not to mention they were probably contacted before your mom, I think the price would be prohibitively high. These interest have probably been held for quite some time, in their position I would be disinclined to sell just before they have a chance to pay off. I might on the other hand sell my interest taking in factors such as what the lease bonus would be, what I would expect to realize from a well in 10 years, add in something if it seems likely there are other productive formations. If I thought the well prospects were good and I planned to participate, it would probably be too expensive to buy the acres from me [ $10,000 to $25,000 per net mineral acre ]. I suppose it couldn't hurt to try though.

Mr. Liles,

I have been trying to track an individual and I believe they have passed away. I was curious as to how you found the obituary?

Thank You,

Tony

Tony,

Use Google as your search engine and type in the name you are searching for. Sometimes it works

and sometimes it doesn't. Good luck.

From my understanding in talking to several old timers in the area, J.T. Blankenship came in the area and bought up several of the mineral interest in the 1930's during the drepression when times were hard. I also was told there was a big lawsuit against him for his fradulant contracts. Is there any way to find this out one person mention they thought the trail was in Galvestion.

Mr. Cox, I also have found out recently that my great grandparents were taken in by Blankenship as well in the 30’s. Have you found any further information on this . Betsy Manning
