Trying to get a release of lease letter from XTO

I signed with XTO back in 2011. for 5 years. At the end of 5 years XTO did not renew our lease. I recently signed with another gas company and they are wanting a “release of lease” letter from XTO. I have called XTO 3-4 times, left message, emailed them and also sent them a letter. So far nothing.

Any suggestions?

Try certified return receipt letter. If they did not drill a well and there is no production, the lease expired by its own terms. Ask the second company why they need the release.
