We have several parcels in Wetzel and have been approached by various companies who want to buy. I know the arguments about selling vs holding for leasing. My question is does anybody know whether the price of land (to sell) has risen since the turnaround of natural gas prices. Any examples anyone willing to share.
Although I do not have any concrete examples to provide you, in terms of basic economics, as the price of gas rises, the value of the land holding that gas will be sure to rise. It may be time for you to get in touch with a good oil & gas attorney and see what the lay of the land is in your area.
Go with comparables…call brokers for opinions…appraisers may have a $/acre imo. good luck. know your basis if needed.
Was offered 8k for 3.5 acre interest today
