Dusty do you know if there is any well activity around the Vandergrift Unit 1 . I own mineral rights to well and have been offered more money than what the royalties should be worth. Thanks Gary DeLoach
Looks like the Vandergrift has two horizontal legs, one running toward the lake and the other going generally south toward 390. In the last year Geosouthern has completed some big gas wells not far south of that area. It’s dry gas but that’s worth money again.
Geosouthern’s completed a well in April, '21 called the Dahmann. The drill site was 4/10ths mile from the south leg of the Vandergrift well. The horizontal leg of the Dahmann extends on south under 390 but in the first 11 months production it’s made over 4 BCF. By comparison, the two legs of the Vandergrift well have made a little over 2 BCF over 20 years. It’s hard to guess how much of that difference reflects the newer technology and how much is due to changes in the formation as you go south.
Magnolia appears to have considerable acreage held by production in your area besides what is in the Vandergrift unit. In the last year they have been putting some of their existing Washington County units together to form big allocation units and drilling long lateral wells. So far those have been further west and in areas that make condensate along with the gas, but that kind of activity, along with what Geosouthern has done not far from you, may be prompting those offers.

In case you haven’t seen it, Magnolia just applied to RRC for permits to drill two allocation wells in a new unit that combines the existing Vandergrift and the Eisenhower Units.
Attaching the plat filed with the well they called the Panther Blue, but it also shows the path proposed for the second well, called the Panther Gold.
Thanks for info Dusty . Let me know when they start drilling. You called it right! Gary
This weekend it looked like the move-in was about half completed. Guessing they will be drilling within a week.
Dusty thanks again let me know if you hear anything else on the panther blue and panther gold.
Dusty Have you had a chance to check the Panther Blue well ? Thanks Gary
Haven’t been by there but will try to next weekend. Drilling will probably take several more weeks since both Panther wells Magnolia permitted will probably be drilled in sequence.
Once drilling is finished there is often a lag before those wells get completed and fracked. Not much information is likely to be available until that part is also finished.
Thanks Dusty Look forward to hearing from you Gary DeLoach
