Here's a good video about drilling horizontal wells, perforating and fracking or fracturing as it is called. You will need your sound on for this one.

Good and interesting stuff !! Thanks, Linda
This says the Bakken will continue be the company's primary focus but they are focusing one eye on the SCOOP I can tell you for sure. They are leasing and drilling down here like crazy!!! And we are hearing that the wells here are holding up in production better than the Bakken in ND.

You're welcome Curt!

I hope I'm repeating some of these as I was interupted by several phone calls so I lost my place.
Here's about the new SCOOP/STACK play. I also heard in coffee shop talk that the STACK play is not holding up as well as the SCOOP play.

Looking for recorded oil and gas leases in the county records. Try this link and click on "advanced search" first and then type in only the section, township and range and I believe you will have the best luck. The least amount of information you type in the better it is~it seems to me.

Some answers to questions that I can think of that have been answered before are:
Condensate is called "liquid gasoline" and it is something they are finding down through the SCOOP and it sells for the same as oil which has been staying up around $100. a bbl. this year.
It is not a bad thing to be "force pooled" and actually has shown to be very good for the mineral owner. It is the oil company's way of rounding up the stragglers who have been hard to find or have held out on signing the lease papers. It is usually done when they are ready to drill and they have to pay you amounts that are better than what you have been offered before in a lease offer. Also, I believe it only ties your minerals up for one year so if they don't drill by then you will get a chance to lease again either to them or someone else (which means more bonus money) Also you usually get better selections of what percentage at which you want to lease (ie: 3/16, 1/5, 1/4, etc) Most on here would either advise to take the bonus and 1/5 or 1/4.
It never hurts to ask for more than they offer in a lease and never take the first offer as they are usually fishing for a bargain (I'm talking here of before you are force pooled). When you are force pooled you need to get your decision back to them before it expires or they can give you the least amount of interest offered which is usually 1/8 (bad choice for these day and times)
Newbies need to take a few days and go back through all the past post for several months or even a year or more. You really need to be reading on the Stephens and Garvin forums as well as Grady to get the most history of the "SCOOP".
If you are looking for attorneys or a landman to help with probate or title ownerships there have been several mentioned here and on the other groups but you will have to go back a few weeks to view those. There are some landmen and probably even attorneys and I know some accountants and CPA on these forums but they are not allowed to solicit on this forum so they may ask you to send them a friend request to do that in private.
News about the SCOOP taken from an Alpha...article:
Looking at the company's production growth, 71% was oil coming primarily from the Bakken and SCOOP (South Central Oklahoma Oil Province) reserves. Continental estimates the SCOOP reserve could contain as much as 70 billion barrels of oil, even bigger than the Bakken with only 24 billion barrels of recoverable oil. SCOOP is considered one of the top emerging plays in the U.S. Harold Hamm refers to SCOOP as the company's "stealth play."
Thanks,Don...for your links.
Here is the list of some landman/landcompanies for some of the major oil companies that have been requested from time to time. There are of course some more but these are all I have at the moment.
Energy Leasing LLC-Norman, Ok., leases for Newfield-Charles Doggett is the one that contacted us. That number is 405-321-2370.
Jackfork Land-Okla. City, Ok. leases for Continental-405-840-4368, the landman we dealt with the first time we leased was Brandon Author but heard he is no longer with them. This time the one we are dealing with for the re-lease is Robbie Ervin. Seems like a really nice guy.
Striker Land Services, Okla. City, Ok. leases for Apache-405-843-4008, someone told me the names of Heidi Gamble-405-990-1124 and Jim Turley 918-645-7845.
Blue Star leases for Marathon, Theo Coleman-405-928-2913 is the name given to me by someone.
Darla Ragland, Pauls Valley, Ok. is a landman that is a member of the Garvin Co. forum that I used for some research work and we were well pleased with her work. I'm sure you can reach her through the forum and I don't want to put her website and number that she gave me privately on here but you can get it from her on here I'm sure.
Lowery Land leases for Vitruvian I've been told but have no numbers or names for them.
If I've misspelled some names, given some misinformation or left someone out that needs to be added please correct me or add those to this website.

Here's a good article that M. Barnes posted on the Stephens County group. Don't think she will mind my sharing it.
