Well without lease

We just received papers Continental filed at the OCC about a proposed well in Section 4-1S-4W, Stephens County,OK. Our mineral interests are under the Bryant 1-4H operated by Continental, but our records indicate that we have not been paid royalties on that well for years. Can Continental drill this new and presumably deeper well without a lease for our mineral interests?

It is possible there is a pooling action that happened a few years ago. It is also possible that Continental Resources has the interest listed on their deck in the name of your ancestor.

Bryant 1-4H last production was 9/1/2019. Continental would need a new lease unless you are still held by any agreement for the Sho-vel-tum field or the North Alma Deese Unit secondary recovery unit. You may need to contact Continental to clarify your status.
