In checking the RRC map recently, I discovered that three wells were drilled on one of the properties I have an interest in (TE&L No. 3404, A-1224) back in 2010 by Norhill Energy. I have no record or memory of having ever signed a lease for this property, and am wondering what recourse I have at this point. The online records show that none of the wells has ever had production, but it also appears they have not been plugged or shut in, either. I recently both left a phone message and sent a letter to the company, but so far have not received any response.

One additional bit of information. I just spoke with the Young Count Clerk's office; the person I spoke with found a Warranty Deed indicating that the current owner of the surface and 1/2 the minerals claims the exclusive right to sign leases and receive bonuses on this property. How would this person be able to claim that? Would the person from whom he bought the land have had to have the same right?
