I am in the process of sorting out some leases I inherited. It has been a slog to say the least. Some of the wells I MAY have a piece of have an operator number of 9998 which maps to OTC/OCC NOT ASSIGNED. This information came from well browse.occ.ok.gov. See the attached picture below. Does this mean that there is currently no operator for the well, and it is possibly abandoned?
It usually means that it is a really old well and they do not have much information on it. You may have better luck with the well record site. Test Put 2422N02W in the Legal Location box. I found a bunch of old wells with no names. You would have to click through each one.
The other place to look is the Gross Production site. Gross Production There are two Nuendorf wells-both are plugged and abandoned. There are couple of wells still active, but you would have to check the spacing to see if they are in your acreage.
Thank you very much for the links.
If you are slugging through, a great place to start is www.okcountyrecords.com. It has most of the OK Counties and you can use the advanced search option to pull up your ancestor’s names. Amazing what you can find. It is free to look and fairly low price to join a short while to print. I download things digitally and save trees. Easy to make spreadsheets out of their data. If you are good with excel, you can copy and paste their cells right into excel to get started on a good list.
Thanks very much for the link. It has been very helpful.
