Had the same thought today when creating password for this new platform.

In my experience with IT developers, there’s generally a different mindset (and maybe even rate of pay) with development than there is with maintenance and so therefore developers frequently decide on their own to ‘improve’ their product even though no improvement is needed and the customers actually prefer the status quo. Just sayin’.
