I’m probably Jumpin the Gunne ala Jo Jo Gunne but I’m wondering what happens in the space between when the ALJ at the Corp Comm approves a well and a Permit to Drill is issued. It is something I have been wanting to ask for a while now.

The OCC approves the well in concept first and then the operator has to pick the exact location and well path of the well based upon the work of the geologist and engineering teams. The Location Exception is filed and approved and then the actual permit is filed. Sometimes, there is an amended location. Rig has to be found and contracted. The location has to be graded, mud pits carved out and lined, etc. Lots of moving parts!
