What to do with royalty interest in Woods County

This is something very new to me in an education kind of way. My grandfather purchased some royalty interest rights in the late 60's. He passed away in 1978 and my grandmother never transferred the rights to her name. She passed away in 2007. Since that time I've received multiple division orders from Chesapeake. The descriptions are as follows:

PROPERTY: ELLEN KAYE 1-16, SECTION 16-23N-13W, WOODS COUNTY, OK ANNA, SECTION 16-23N-13W, WOODS COUNTY, OK

Unfortunately, I don't even know where to start to get these transferred to my name and even once that's done, what do do with them.

You need to go to an attorney and get it transferred and filed at the country clerk office. Was there a probate or will for your grandmother? That would sure help if their was.

Sounds like you have interest in 2 wells that Chesapeake is wanting to sent you checks for.
