When must an oil company start reporting production to the Texas Railroad Commission?

I am a royalty owner in an oil well in Burleson County, TX. The well was completed in November and oil trucks have been running ever since. My question is when must the oil company start reporting production to the Railroad Commission. As of today it production query shows “No Report” since October 2024. Any insight is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Does the well have an RRC oil lease id number or are you using the permit number? Have you searched under pending by permit number or under pending for operator and district or under oil and gas by operator by district? Sales and volumes are reported to TX Comptroller and available under its CONG site, using either lease id or well lease id.

Have they filed a completions report (W-2)? Often times the completions report is delayed long after production has started. And then it can take the TRRC a couple months to approve it. Once that happens, production numbers will start being published on the TRRC site.

Thanks to both of y’all for responses. I have yet to receive any information from the oil company. I assumed I would have received the Division Orders by now, but nothing. Both the TRR and CONG site report no production. Thanks again for your input.

type into google texas railroad commission completions query. use the API number to search for the W-2. Division orders cant be sent out until they have a full title opinion on all tracts. They often drill and complete wells before that is completely finished.

SteveCo,

Many thanks. I found information on both wells. One well showed a 24 hour test in December and the other well shows it is “shut-in” status.
