When you lease with a company I recently noticed the company and the date is listed on the Canadian county courthouse website.
I wondered when the lease expires will the name be removed of the company that originally leased it?
Or do I have to do something to have it removed?
It says Grantor and our name and Grantee the oil company name.
They do not go back and remove names. The lease will either expire under its own terms or it will continue under the production terms. You do not have to do anything. They remain filed at the courthouse. If there is something significantly wrong with the lease such as the description of the acreage, that can be corrected. (My understanding-not giving a legal opinion)
