I own minerals rights in N/2 N/2 OF 5-18N-3W in Logan. Devon has completed wells with 640 spacing. I did a well search with OCC and came up with a well called Lavera but am told there exist multiple well heads at the same location, including another Lavera well. While both Lavera wells are from the same location, I'm informed my rights include only one of the two. How can I determine which well(s) am I entitled royalty?
Also, I'm not certain how up to date the OCC data base is but is there another source, however fee-based, I can reference?
Thanks, Arthur
Arthur, you have rights to the Lavera 5-18N-3W #1WH. That is the one that goes from the south edge of the section into the northern edge of the section. The Lavera 8-18N-3W #1WH goes from the same pad, but heads south into section 8. You only get royalties from the wells that are perforated in your section.
There is another source called DrillingInfo that you can buy into. It has maps of the wells and tons of information . If you have other acreage, then it is an excellent source, but if you don't, then the OCC also has a mapping part although it is very slow, but free.

There are two older wells that you should have gotten paid on in the past.
Thank you greatly for this information! I wonder how often royalty payments can be miscalculated or confused when multiple wells originate from the same pad?
Companies are very careful about that. It is more related to the bottom hole location and working backwards up the hole by the zones perforated.
