I have noticed that quite a number of the Pooled Units approved on the Railroad Commission Website covering Wilson and Karnes Counties have Red Crest Trust listed as a mineral owner. Acreage is in the thousands. Is anyone familiar with Red Crest Trust?
A trust of mineral rights put together in the 30s and 40s. Then “shares” were sold to individuals. I have seen a few articles on it. The is quite a bit of controversary over the way some rights were bought and shares sold. I forgot the man’s name. Mc something I think.
H.J. McMullen Died in 1934. Nee Langille Trust
I have seen that name on our division order in dewitt county also
H.J. McMullen is correct.

Rick, once again thank you. What is so interesting about the information you provided is that I learned a few hours later that the father of the owners of the land next to mine was Lucian's first cousin. Small world isn't it.
Best regards, Mark

my father and my uncle are heirs to royalties from Red Crest Trust. Deeds that were bought in the 1930's totaling up to 144,000 acres in five counties in Texas. We are just beginning to unwind the mystery. We have the original deeds and were recently contacted by landmen looking for ratification signatures. What do we do about this and who should I contact to help understand this better. We know we have some value, but not quite sure how to extract all the information.

Hi , I have been researching un paid old trust on oil gas, learned a lot on Red crest trust ,J.P Morgan, sold the leases twice.Orca, company I think had a law suit against J.P Morgan. .I am interested in who were the attorneys representing the heirs of H.J McMullen ..I am sure there are a lot more Trusts accounts under different names back in the day, Red Crest Trust , was there in 1927..Alot of people are owned money on these old trusts who never got it.. If you have the names of attorney for McMullen heirs or any other old trusts names please e-mail me at [email protected] The new Texas House Bill-724 83rd les. if passed next year will clean up a lot of old oil gas leases never paid.. time for exposure on the banks oil companies.. Thanks
