Conductor hole is the name of it instead of starter hole. I’ve been corrected.
That’s very interesting, Daniel - Thanks! That thing looks like a giant post hole digger.
Ann,
There is a producing well in the same section, HOBBS 1-30H.
When I talked to the XTO guy, he said they had a rig on the pad, but moved, he didn’t say why they moved it.
Daniel…P. called it a some other name beside a starter hole but I forgot what the name was but that’s what it amounted to he said. They do it with a much littler rig like a “Rat Hole Rig”. It is portable one that you can drive down the road. I’ve seen several of them on the location before they move the big drilling rigs in. I think it’s just a beginning to a good end!
Daniel…Sorry the Branch wells are using so many rigs. I’m not sure that Newfield have the walking rigs. I saw the film about Continental’s walking rigs but so far haven’t seen them in our little part of the country around here. Have You?
A friend just told me they finished fracking on the Wilkerson in Grady Co. where he folks have a nice chunk of. He wanted to share the news with all concerned. He said it’s Continental and they have sat the usual 3 oil tanks and the one salt water one which seems to be what they are doing for all of them in the “Scoop”. Said our Stephen Co. group was lots more interesting than the Grady Co. so he’d been reading this one mostly. I agree! Love it!
Sould have signed the last post: Ms. Type-O even though I’m A positive! lol
XTO said that using the big rigs to spud the wells works out better for them than to having the work done by the smaller drill rigs.
XTO has 3 or 4 pads over this way and in Marshall and Johnson co. where they are using walking rigs. They spud each well, then move to the next well, about 10’ or 20’ apart, and spud the next one. When they are finished spudding the wells, they start drilling and they just work backwards to the first well.
Linda,
We need you over here to add some spark. Not many posts on this group, though there are 13 active rigs in Carter Co. with about 9 or 10 on the East side of i-35.
sounds weird to me, Daniel, but I’m sure they know what they’re doing.
Linda &, Ann,
Here is a good explaination of the conductor hole process.
Glad yours, Daniel, is just a starter hole.
Is your lease about to expire? Could that be their reason?
Linda, I have little glasses for my little fingers.
XTO has 5 rigs drilling in 4S-3E in sections 4, 7, 26, 27 and 34.
Seems expensive to me, doesn’t it? I’d hate to be a partner paying the duplicate costs unless there was a lease expiring - that would make sense.
I forgot about the Hobbs 1-30H.
Lets hope you get higher prices for your product due to the delay in drilling!
Oops, sorry, with my last post I was thinking I was on the Stephen’s Co. group. They’ll be kicking me off of here for getting off of the subject if I’m not more careful. Sorry!
Here is a few well in the Gene Autry area
WASHITA 1-20H SEC20 T3S R3E 83 BOPD 1.252 MCFPD TD 16590
KIRK 1-29H SEC 29 T3S R3E 150NOPD 2,341MCFPD TD17,418
LAWSON 1-13H SEC 13 T2S R 2E ONE MILE EAST OF SPRINGER ON 53 HWY 412 BOPD 4,171MCFPD TD17,226
TYER 1 TYER 2 TYER 3 TYER 4 LOOKS LIKE THEY ARE GETTING READY TO FRACK MITCHELL 1 looks like they are getting ready to set tanks.
These wells are on Lumberman Rd NW of Ardmore Industrial Park
No don’t know what rig was on MITCHELL but have set well head and doing some graded work but across the road on TYER wells they had seven signs up for different wells but now there is only four signs up
OCC is behind their reporting on Mitchell, they have not posted the Completion Report.
Do you happen to know what the rig operator and number was for Mitchell?
It seems to me that most of the drilling is for multiple wells and in some cases the section might end up with 6 wells.
The wells I see drilling in the area are:
MELTON 4-19H18 19-3S-3E
WALLS 4-27H26 27-3S-2E
OTEY 1-34H27 34-3S-2E
Looks like Cactus Drilling has moved a rig on Section 2 4S 2E.
The pad on 4-4s-2e maybe for a compressor and related equipment.
