The vertical depth here is probably more than 18,000 feet.

I wonder what all these genius’s that have stated that no one is going to drill for natural gas at the current market prices THINK? Ha! Ha!

Do you think these operators would be drilling in this price environment if they didn’t have to? With debt and lease obligations, they have no choice but to drill through it.

So congratulations on dunking on people when mineral owners are getting 50 cents on the dollar for their natural gas production.

Anyone seeing new leasing in Freestone CT ?

You would need to be more specific about leasing in which block, abstract and section for a more useful answer.

The short answer is “yes” but that is not particularly helpful. Mostly in the SE side of the county in the last year.

as the play spreads throughout the county it’s helpful to know where it’s going. Since Comstock has staked a well in the southern end of the county one would assume they are either leasing or obtaining farm in acreage in that part. However does it go beyond that well is my question in any particular direction.

If you review the prior Freestone County posts, you will see where leasing has occurred during the last three years. In addition, Comstock has acquired the deep rights to lots of held by production acreage.

Alan , the maps you posted are of some help for the overall view. It would be great if there was one that had the abstracts in it with the leasing or farm in assignments or memorandums included. That is probably difficult to do on such a small scale I would think.

Here’s a link to the Freestone County Deed Records. There might be away to search on the Legal Description to find if leases have been recorded. However, I’ve never tried doing that.

I am own several tracts of minerals in the county and I am getting some action about 4 miles northeast of the well Comstock staked.

If you enter the name of a survey, such as “Abel”, in the legal description box, a search will bring up all documents that reference that survey.
