Chas- Nancy is incredibly helpful- she helped me identify some mineral shares that I had that Antero had missed! So grateful for that!
The mineral do’s and don’ts always say to be nice. They must mean the lessors. From what has happened in the last several months, it seems some of the big cheeses in these mineral associations are not looking out for people like they claim. I think some of them are in it to thicken their wallets. I know that the companies make a lot of mistakes in people and paper research. When we were summoned for a partition suit, the attorney sent an 85 year old man a summons that was not even an heir. Had the same name and that’s all. His family contacted us and the man was very upset. The attorney supposedly sent out a letter to him apologizing. I recently looked on the land records and his name is still on there as being in the suit. The companies don’t ever seem to be held liable unless someone pushes them with a counter suit.
Think of me as your friendly reference librarian haha
Thanks for that DT. So true.
Nancy Mosley is my 2nd favorite O/G hero, right behind my great grandfather Leonard Dotson, whose foresight allowed me to be on here! And God bless our veterans on this weekend!!
Nancy Rocks!!!
I agree DT.
To all: We are very fortunate to have all the Input " good and bad" on this forum, and I especially want to commend our female" BULLDOGS" that just keep harping away at all the corporations in order to show us there struggles and victories. Ladies we thank you.
Just want it to be right, that’s all! Sounds simple doesn’t it!!!
Thanks Darin! Yes most or maybe all of us "owe " our ancestors who left us mineral rights, and really OWE our service members who stand up for us.
We can meet on the courthouse lawn for a picnic. =)
That would be fun.
Jacqueline Gum, are you related to any of the Gum’s in Pocahontas County, WV?
I LOVE Nancy Mosley!
She is my O&G Hero!
That is all!!
Great post DT. My Dad is on this Memorial in Doddridge County:
Memorial Wall of Honor that has stood on the court house lawn in West Union for decades. … names are listed alphabetically, and grouped by war.
I concur cmpletely! Hip Hip hooray for all of our veterans past and present, and Nancy Mosley thanks for all you do… I am in awe:)
OK guys give yourselves credit too. Everybody is learning a lot and helping when possible. We should have a meeting sometime.
I think the courthouse lawn is a perfect place for a forum picnic:) I’m in!
Jacqueline Gum, after the civil war James Otho Gum moved from the Virginia Highlands and settled in Pocahontas County near Dunmore, WV. One of his sons, Harry Gum moved to Oil City, Pa in the early 1800’s to work the oil wells. Just some information that may help you.
