Garvin County, OK - Oil & Gas Discussion archives

Vicki…I’m sure you have probably seen this but it’s fun to readhttp://seekingalpha.com/article/754371-newfield-south-cana-wells-sh...

Rick, my stuff in 2 1s-4w is in Stephens. This gets confusing talking about 2 different counties at one time. Is your interest in sec. 6 in Stephens or Garvin? 1s-4w are the old wells in Stephens that have been in my family since the 40’s. Maybe I am the only one easily confused

Vicki,

2-1S-4W is the same regardless of the county unless you get into some of the panhandle areas. All of 1S-4W falls within Stephens Co. Our last producing well in 1S-4W was plugged late last year (in section 8)

Yes, there are a ton of old wells in the area that were drilled in the 40-50s that are still producing.

David,

They have not even made any applications with the OCC yet.

Rick, now I’m really confused. I thought each county had it own townships, ranges, and sections unique to that particular county. This is a real learning experience for me. You appear to be a pro. Are you in the oil and gas business or just a knowledgeable individual?

Have heard of Jack Ferguson!

Wow. Linda, I went to Pernell in 72 and EC 73-74. I moved back to Ada where my mom lived and graduated there my last semester of Sr. yr in 75. I was actually born in 19 not far from the Williams well in Foster area. My dad’s family has been and still is there. What was your maiden name? You know we’re stressin Hutch out with all this recollection talk. lol

Just a comment on the land with the old producing wells, that land may be held-by-production, but only to a depth that the old wells are producing. The SCOOP wells are very deep and probably below the old wells, therefore a new lease would need to be obtained for a company to get down to the new layer of interest. I believe leases capture mineral rights down to the lease target and every above (and nothing below).

Yeah, Cousin Vicki, you better get that DO sent back in quickly! lol Is that 2n,3w? If so P’s mom has a tiny bit of royalty next to you in 20. They’ve forced pooled but we’ve heard nothing more.

How long has it been since it went into production? Did they take the full six months like they told us it would be? We’re expecting ours around Christmas.

Vicki…I guess you saw this. The smaller map shows the scoop circles where you can tell a little more about what area but it doesn’t have any Sections listed on it. http://api.ning.com/files/Rdi3jADg33gps9j45cotDnM*AageYeA1-jdY4MuWr…

Vicki,

Look at the DO carefully and make sure that is does not change the terms of the lease agreement.

Yes, Linda, it is 2n3w and yes it has been 6 mos plus a little I believe. Completion date was 5-9. Newfield said first revenue would come on Nov. 30th which is their pay date, if you believe what Newfield tells you. I sometimes wonder

Rick, my brother is the detail man and I promise you he won’t leave a stone unturned. Have you heard of that happening around here?

Linda, BT is my 2nd cousin. His dad Carl and my dad’s dad were brothers. I saw him and Jana @ a family wedding about 2 yrs. ago and enjoyed catching up with them. They are great people. My dad was Jack Ferguson and he worked @ the Maysville bank for many yrs. If you’re a native to Lindsay you may have known of him as well

Was a native here since the seventh grade and before that at Elmore City so I’ve lived in the Scoop all my life (except for a brief while after marriage) and didn’t even know it. The last 32 years we’ve lived back here in the “Sweet Spot” lol

This Ken Burns documentary on the dust bowl will air on the 18th. You can watch four clips at the PBS site.

Thanks Lynden, P. was wanting to watch that again and didn’t know when it was going to be. If we don’t get rain soon here that could happen again! Pray for rain for Oklahoma, please!

Talk to land owner today on Sec. 33, 3n,4w and seems they are having a little problem with the oil company not wanting to pay them what they think their wheat field is worth to them. Maybe they’ll get it worked out soon.

See Hutch…I couldn’t stay exclusively on the subject of minerals but I threw a little bit of it in there to keep you happy! lol

How would I find out if Continental is drilling on our property in 7, 3n, 4w? Can you simply call and ask?
