Howard County, TX - Oil & Gas Discussion archives

I came across a document that was a “term royalty deed” which is almost the same thing as to what NantucketResources were doing but this individual only sold 19 % out of his 22% royalty interest. This is only one of the ways any individual or company is trying to get into the ball game of the Cline Shale.

Here’s an article i’m putting up for general discussion. I know the reporter and he’s a pretty stand-up guy. Some of the regulars might know a lot more about this and how to finesse this kind of issue. thanks, jhh

That article points out the downfall of holding out and not signing a lease.

Also clarification: this term royalty deed only remained in effect while the well was producing. If it ever failed to produce the grantee’s interest would cease to exist. We have also or I should say my husband has also received letters in where they offered to buy his minerals for a term of one year. We (he) will never sign any kind of paper such as this.

Melody: Mr. Craig is right. Never SELL your minerals. But you do what’s right for you. If you have 100 acres and they want to buy your minerals for $50-million… you might think about it. But i kind of doubt that’s the offer on the table.

It also shows the option of being able to drill your own well, if you have the money.

Hi everyone. Thanks for the feedback. I am just getting up to speed on the Cline Shale. The interest I have in minerals in Howard County is pretty small, but the offer from Nantucket seems pretty good, but I am thinking I should go back to them and ask them to lease it, versus the one year term purchase.

Anything little is something

Or in my case just too lazy and thanks to Clint it just comes to me. If it makes you feel any better it is hard to navigate.

Many thanks to Clint for permit post. Having these permits just show up in my mailbox has been very valuable. I am sure if he charged for this service many would pay. If this has been helpfull to you give him a shout.

Joe, what I am seeing is deep verticals going past ths Cline. I have been told they are doing this to quickly hold as much acreage as they can.

Craig and Joe… we’re all hoping for the best in Howard County. Sometimes it seems the less you hear the better it will turn out.

I’m sure some would pay but he is getting them from the Texas railroad website, which is public info just hard for some to navigate. Me being one of the latter, lol.

Has anyone seen a report of IP for any Cline horizontal well

drilled in Howard Co. this year? Just curious if any reliable news is out there. Their is plenty of hype about it!

Joe, Not sure if it was Howard, but there is a very active thread in the Cline Shale group that closely follows every completion under Cline Shale News.

I agree w/Craig, they use vertical WB’s to set HBP now, Cline for dessert later.

craig how deep past the cline and where

In my case 12000 feet 8.5 miles NW of Big Spring.

Looking for info on this land and if any drilling is being done and if so who or how to contact them.

There was a Seismic Option done in 1997 by Slate Land Services. Thank you for any and all help.
