Interested if anyone has information on the Freeman 1H well drilled in sections 14 & 23 T16N R8W about 7 miles west of kingfisher. Newfield Exploration drilled this well. The spud date was around July 5, 2014. I was at the well site in early August. Halliburton was setting surface casing? I was not allowed on site but talked to neighbor. Getting information from Newfield’s mineral rights representative is like pulling eye teeth. Little or none and so far and no response to numerous calls. I understand the Woodford shell play can be quite prolific in this area. I would appreciate any information, especially from anyone living in Kingfisher. Thank you in advance.
Ralph, the county is pretty busy depending upon where you are. The Horizontal drilling is very active in some areas. If Stephens contacted you, they should at least tell you what Section Township and Range they are interested in.
Your first step is to get your records together. Find out exactly what you are getting through probate. Get any files from the relative if you can. You are going to need to prove your title.
Once you get some of the information, start by making folders for each tract. You will need to inform the county clerks’s office of your name, address and a complete description of each of your mineral tracts.
I would suggest that you read through the last six months of activity on this forum to get up to speed on what folks are talking about. Then go over to the Stephens, Grady and Garvin forums and read those to get a feel for the industry, the players, the lease terms, what to watch out for, etc. Then you will be more informed by the time your info starts to trickle in. We are here to help.
Hello to Doris & David,
If soonerpe is correct about this location. Section 2- 18 North-Range -West of the Indian Meridian these directions might help you.
Start at State Highway junction 51& Hwy 81 in Hennessey OK
Go 3 miles south to EO650RD, (locals call this Exxon road) then 7 1/2 miles West. The section you are looking for is in Coronado Township, but there will be nothing mentioning that on that road. The total above of 7 1/2 miles from 81 going West will have 3 1/2 miles of black top road then 4 miles of dirt road. The section you are looking for is bordered on the North by EO650 road, E by N2800 Rd, S by EO660Rd and the West by N2790 Rd. Most Kingfisher County roads are marked at the intersections now, hope this helps. Friend me and I can send you a map if that would help you further. Shimanek is the surface owner in the SW 1/4 of this section. Happy Hunting Mike
Sorry left off part of section address 2-18N-8W
Mike
has anyone seen a slowdown in drilling or production as a result of the drop in WTI prices?
FYI - I have an unsolicited offer to lease my mineral rights on 08-17N-08W for $2000 per acre and 3/16. I have received offers to purchase the rights for $2,000, but not lease.
Anyone know of any activity in the area?
Rick, Newfield is moving into that section to drill horizontal wells. The price to lease is pretty good, but not to sell. You might want to read the last few investor presentations by Newfield especially the parts about the Meramec play. Don’t lease immediately. Be sure you understand the terms. The “standard” lease is not in your favor. Also read the Marathon and Continental Resources presentations. Then come back with questions.
Tim - I’m not considering leasing. Unfortunately I am leased at $500. I was just informing the group that the offers in the mail were going up. I used Ralph and was pleased.
Is there any news on the Newfield well that was drilled near you? I haven’t seen any permits issued in my Township. They seem to be getting closer though.
Unfortunately, when I contacted Ralph Harrison he said that he was not taking anymore clients right now as they were so busy but did refer me to:
302 N. Main Street
Kingfisher, Oklahoma 73750
(405) 375-4165
(405) 375-5944 – Fax
also located in Kingfisher and have been very pleased as I am in SC and there are no attorneys here that deal with mineral leasing/selling.
I don’t have any info yet other than they are hauling salt water out like crazy and oil trucks are in there all the time. My brother in law who lives near Loyal says the are about to drill three wells near 33 and the Loyal road. Permit filed today. They built a big for pond new there and are pumping into it from a new well. I imagine it’s pretty hot to get that much action. These were devising wells at first and the risk must be good. Also seismic is now complete so that tells them more also
Rick, lease money in many parts of the county are $2500 to $3000 an acre. I would think about contacting a minerals attorney to get the entire scope. I used Ralph Harrison at Harrison McKlenburgh and was pleased. I know that across the road from my, $2500 an acre was paid. I’m two west of Loyal, one south and one half west. I’m at home and don’t have the legals. An attorney works with all of the land brokers and will get your best deal. Don’t sell your minerals!
Tim - Where is Loyal Rd and 33?
Ten miles west of Kingfisher where 33 makes a correction South a bit. Loyal is eight miles north.
Rick, it’s just a matter of time. Chaparral has hit it hard near Dover with a cluster of Wells that reported 1000 to 500bbls of oil a day.
I got it now. 33 not marked very well on Google. Our minerals are 2 miles due east of loyal and half mile south. (8-17n-8w) and some more about a mile north of that location.
Those wells might be getting close. I’ll watch for the permits.
Husky Ventures has 6-8 recently drilled wells that are involved in location exception protests, primarily from existing vertical well producers (this information is based on a discussion I had with Husky’s outside counsel). My interest is located at 20-19n-07w. He had indicated that they were working on settlement agreements. Any insight from this group if those settlements have been completed?
Rick, read Newfields third quarter report on their website that came out two days ago. The well by me is called John and it did quite well as the derisking or test well on the northern end of their Stack play. Did 840 barrels although the pumper told my brother in law it flowed around 1200. They also talk about two wells drilled farther South 880ft apart and targeting the same zone. Both were gushes. Things are looking up if you are Leased to Newfield in Kingfisher or Canadian County in the Stack play
Thanks for the update Tim. Things are looking good.
Would they choke down the well to disguise what the well is doing? I just checked Google for Tread and a couple months ago they assigned some leases in Garvin County to Newfield. Maybe we are
I Don’t really know who has our lease. We signed with Tread Energy in Norman and were told that they were leasing for a Tulsa company that was leasing to drill. But they can tell you anything. I googled Tread a few minutes ago and found that they had assigned three leases to Newfield last month in Garvin County. Maybe we are leased to Newfield.
Keep us posted.
Hello-My mom recently signed over her land to me so I am new to all of this, and I live in Idaho. I have studied this forum and it has been very helpful. Our gas and oil lease just expired in October (Chesapeake had it) and I am trying to figure out the best way of going about getting lease offers and finding a company that will hopefully drill!
Location: 80 Acres in Kingfisher County, Section 35-18N-8W.
-Can anyone enlighten me on the action/potential around this area?
-How do I proceed? I’m not getting any unsolicited inquiries to lease right now possibly with the change of ownership or that the other lease just expired, so will the oil companies find me or do I reach out to them or what?
Thanks in advance!
Just my luck on the timing, I hope I’m not the reason for the drop in oil prices—ha ha! I appreciate the info on which companies to reach out to. Thanks, Tim!
