CAn someone please give the Section & Block for the Clay Mann Smith Place?

Don, I am sorry to ask you that again. It sounded vaguely familiar, I looked back through some of these pages last night, didn’t see it. Now I remember we talked but it was under the topic of “New Activity In The County.” Of course, you are located very close to Natilynn.

Gary, CMS location will be SE/4 Sec 28 Blk 27 T&P Survey, and the horizontal part will go south into Sec 33

Toni, our place is the Feaster Farm on 1229, about two miles north of the interstate. It lays just east of 1229 and is bordered on the south by County Rd. 204. It’s the western three-quarters of Section 26, Block 27. I think it is a little north and east of the old Clay Mann Smith place. Don

Toni, thanks for responding. Now my curiosity is really tearing me up! I went to school in C-City in the 50’s with a Natilynn Smith, her gradmother (I think) was a Mrs. Wolfjen and one of my favorite teachers was a Mr. Bill Everett. Are you possibly connected to all these folks?

If you receive the paper or can access the county clerks online public website you can see where there are oil assignments from one to another. The paper will only provide names but the county clerks site should give you more info. I haven’t actually researched anything to be able to tell you 100% yes.

You’re not the only one whose favorite teacher was Bill Everett. And you’re on the right track.

We leased to Lincoln Land and Title back in March and were told that they were putting together acreage for Devon Energy. Nothing has been sent to us since that date letting us know that Devon now holds the lease. Is there a way to find out who currently holds the lease on a particular piece of property? Don

Don, what kind of deal did you get and where is your land? thanks, jack

Don, if you did all your paper work and signed a lease and then received a check, or two, then Devon most likely holds your lease. I believe Lincoln Land Title was the leasing agent for Devon in that time frame. Best of luck Don.

Thanks Toni. Really appreciate your note. I’ve been gone from there so long, I tend to get some of the “facts” confused sometimes. I’m sure it’s the length of time I’ve been gone, and not my age that causes the confusion. Thank you and the others who keep this forum interesting and informative. A few of us long-distance land/royalty owners would really be in the dark if it were not for these forums. Don Petty

Don, i’m asking because we have some land and a few offers are being made. thanks, jack

Jennifer, thanks for the info. I will check it out. Don

No problem, it always looks different when you actually see the info for yourself. They (leasing companies) have been "flipping"leases left and right! This is also how they make money by selling the leases for more and/or saving an over riding royalty for themselves.

The company that wants to lease my interest in Hale County is Laredo. Any history on them?

Cheryl: Thanks for the info.

We have 2 leases as of today with Laredo. They have been fair, although today’s was ratification. Their headquarters are in Hurst.

George:

Regarding your Hale County offer: would appreciate feedback on what offers are being made by Laredo in that area…thanks.

JW: Initial offer was $100 to $150 per acre and 20%. I told them that was low and would get back to them. I have a small interest.

No matter how small your interest, that’s low; check around and see if others in the Hale County forum group will share more info.

I’m back on the forum. It looks like still no production from any of the properties?
