Mitchell County, TX - Oil & Gas Discussion archives

Toni, thank you very much for keeping us in the loop, especially those of us in other parts of Texas, and for providing pictures, timely updates, inside info, etc… Your time and trouble to do this is greatly appreciated.

I posted something on the Cline Shale MRF, but I’ll post it here also…some not so optimistic news. I spoke with a landman with Devon today. One of the questions I asked was about production information. He said that the results, so far, had not been as good as they had hoped for.

My dad always said not to trust a landmen. They are trying to save their company money so if they say it looks good everyone who hasn’t signed will want to wait longer or will want to negotiate a better lease. Hopefully, we will know soon!

My uncle was a very smart man.

The pipe line to China Grove runs through part of our land. It was put in when I was young and we all played in the ditch. One cousin broke an arm while playing in the ditch.

Michael, the number I have is as follows:

LMD Energy, LLC

817-590-0913

N Richland Hills

and the number I have for Legacy Minerals is

405-748-2535 in OKC

Maybe this will help you.

No Cline W2’s in Mitchell yet, but will be soon.

Landman said that the Mayse property is complete. Any word on production there?

@Robert M - I sent a note top Laredo about Wade Stevens and was told he does not work for them !! His signature is:

Wade Stephens

Petroleum Landman
LMD Energy, LLC
Mobile: (903) 821-0443
E-Mail: [email protected]

…can’t seem to find them anywhere.

Notice that it produced 16,000 BBL prior to W2 test.

Les, those look like good numbers to this neophyte, or am I wrong.

The only other close by completion that I know of is the Devon #5H Stroman, but it’s on the low end. (121 BOPD). These IP’s are going to fluctuate according to completion technique and downhole problems. The Cline is following the path of the Wolfcamp Shale in the southern basin, some huge, some not so good. I’ve worked both.

Another dumb question: What is a W2?

Here’s the new Firewheel completion in Sterling Co.: http://webapps.rrc.state.tx.us/CMPL/viewPdfReportFormAction.do?meth…

Good info, thanks Les!

You can do your own search for county of interest, go to: http://webapps.rrc.state.tx.us/CMPL/publicSearchAction.do?formData…

Choose a date range, the longer the better cause it is dated according to when submitted, choose your county, then choose “horizontal” at the bottom drop-down.

A W2 is the well potential test that must be submitted to the Texas Railroad Commission

None of these are in Mitchell County, right?

Thanks Les. This is extremely helpful information.

@Panhandle flash - Thanks for your reply…unfortunately the LMD number you gave me is a fax machine. The number for Legacy Minerals is actually for Legacy Bank and they knew nothing. Do you have any other contact info? Thanks in advance…
