Thanks Martha, hopefully American Energy has Devon in their sights…and are keeping tabs on Devon…

Bob, Aubrey McClendon is a genius when it comes to exploration and development, but he and Chesapeake, as a CEO and corporation, just didn’t understand that the bigger you get the better you need to behave. I hope he has corrected his mistakes and you get a gusher!

Me too, I read up on him quite a guy, under Federal Investigation re: his FFEW or something like that, he was on a 2.2.million dollar salary, and getting 2.2% from every well in his pocket, the stockholders don’t like that and neither do the feds, so they stopped that…but 14 not on the docket next week, so will keep hoping…tx

From what Ron has posted, American Energy is doing really great…

Section 32-19N-5E. I’m new and have no idea of how to stay current on Devon and when they plan to drill. Any advice would be appreciated. Joe

I recently got a letter from Reagan Smith on behalf of Mt. Dora Energy that my property was being communitized. Does this mean they have a horizontal well already producing?

My Attorney charged me $300.00 to review the lease. That was it

Is it normal for an attoney to send an engagement letter that just states hourly fees. there is nothing about an estimate of how long it will take for them to evaluate my lease. It seems like they cold charge me any amount??? He said 1 to 2 hours probably for a standard lease.

G Win, It should not take an attorney more than 1 or 2 hours for a standard lease. However, I’ve seen some leases that are more than 10 pages with language that is anything but standard, so the attorneys don’t want to quote a price and then end up spending 5 hours or more. Without looking at your lease I’d guess it is two pages and pretty much standard for our area. As long as you didn’t attach an Exhibit A or Addendum that complicates the lease the attorney should have no problem quickly reviewing your lease.

G. Win, I understand your situation and if you are not comfortable with the attorney here’s a list of attorneys recommended on this forum. Guy Clark is in Ponca City (580)749-4157 - Mahaffey & Gore (405)236-1520 is in OKC - and Ralph Harrison at Mecklenburg Harrison is in Kingfisher and does a lot of work in Logan, Payne and Kingfisher County (405) 375-6484.

Thanks Martha. It is a 2 page lease. I think it is standard. I’m only concerned that they could charge me any amount they want with no maximum stated.

Joseph, The Oklahoma Corporation Commission is a good way to stay informed. http://www.occ.state.ok.us/ or you can call them at 405-521-2613, but the OCC might not be able to tell you if your well is drilling drilled. Ron McKenize, on this forum, is so good to post well completion reports that tells when wells have been drilled. The OCC allows communitized mineral acreage to be developed and operated as a whole when separate mineral tracts can’t be independently developed and operated in a manner that best captures the oil and gas from specific formations in a given field. This notice means Devon may be drilling your minerals soon, so watch for Ron’s reports.

We are still waiting on the completion report to be filed for a well that started producing the end of March. Anyone have any idea how long it usually takes Devon? HAAK 17-20N-3E

How will we know if they decide to keep it confidential? Is there some way to tell how fast production drops off?

thanks Martha
