Reeves County, TX - Oil & Gas Discussion archives

Shanthi,

Do not be hesitant in calling, that is if you are dealing with Adam St. Romane. Ask if they got the materials and if he thinks Petrohawk is interested or not. Yes it is okay to deal with other companies at the same time.

Wow! That was one heck of a presentation of the Reeves County play. Thank you so much for sharing the link. I must admit that it looked better than I would have thought.

I’ll second that WOW!!! Thanks for the info sounds wonderful to me

What is the best way to locate your mineral leases in reeves co. ? county clerk wants $100.00 per hour. DANG!

If you don’t have a copy of the lease, an old producer statement, a tax statement, or a legal description, you will need to hire a title company. Do you have any of these things?

Meant to say “per well,” not “per section”!

Thank you, Sarah, for that link. So very interesting! We have 114 mineral acres of the adjacent section west of the Capp well area used in the example on page 69. We are kitty-corner to the Bell wells section used as an example on page 70. If I’m understanding what they are saying, there is rather a staggering amount of oil to be gotten from those sections, if 10-acre spacing is permitted. (Is that ever done?) Even at 40 acres per section, the royalty money involved could be pretty mind-blowing, if I’m understanding everything. We are currently in negotiations with Clayton Williams, though things have slowed down since oil dropped below $100. Of course, it’s always a crapshoot and there may not be a drop in our section, I guess. Thanks again so much, Sarah! This report is sure a keeper for us.

Wade: Thanks for responding. Yes, I do have 2 leases out there with a legal description on them. There just doesn’t seem to be internet info. to map it in.

Try the GLO-GIS WEBVIEWER. When you launch and zoom in on Reeves, the block numbers will start appearing, and then you can find the section. You can then use the RRC website to see what is going on production wise in your section and the surrounding area. There is a video tutorial on the home page of this website on how to use it.

Thanks, Steve. Havent read anything on this. Any links?

Link is on Aug 22 comment.

Stephen’
It it theBarnett and Woodford shale.

Everyone here should sign up for the Avalon Shale discussion group. Lots of articles get posted there.

To Stephen and Phyllis,

On Aug 22, I posted a link to Buzz that you may have missed. It shows 200-300 BCF of gas in place per sq. mi that is below the Wolf Camp. Not economical now but something for future generations.

Huh! Really? Yes I did miss that. What formation please?

so tell the future gen don’t ever SELL lol

Thank you all. Very helpful! Our first well was fracked on Aug. 29th. Still haven’t heard any flow rates though.

Could anyone please comment if there is known activity in Reeves county section1 ?and if so which oil companies are active in this region? Your input will be much appreciated.

Thank you in advance

Shanthi Fernando

There are many Section 1’s in the county. A full legal would be advised if you want help.
